Privacy Policy

Privacy-first by design

This Privacy Policy explains how ScoreNook ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the ScoreNook Twitch Extension ("the Extension").

1

Information We Collect

ScoreNook is designed to be privacy-first. We strictly limit the data we collect to what is absolutely necessary for the Extension to function.

  • For Viewers: We do not collect, store, or process any personal identifiable data from viewers. We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to collect anonymous usage statistics (page views, interactions). IP anonymization (anonymize_ip: true) is enabled — your full IP address is never stored by Google.
  • For Broadcasters: When you install and configure the Extension on your channel, we collect:
    • Twitch Channel ID: To scope API requests and deliver the correct scoreboard configuration to your specific channel.
    • Configuration Preferences: Your chosen sport (e.g., NHL, NFL) and overlay display settings.
    • Twitch OAuth Token (Optional): If you choose to enable the Chat Alerts feature, you must explicitly authorize ScoreNook via Twitch. We securely store this token on our server solely to send automated score messages to your chat. We also store a simple boolean flag indicating if chat authorization is active.
2

How We Use Your Information

We use the limited information we collect exclusively to:

  • Operate and maintain the Extension (delivering real-time sports data to your stream).
  • Save and apply your broadcaster configuration settings.
  • Post automated score updates to your Twitch chat (only if explicitly enabled by the broadcaster).
  • Understand how the Extension is used via anonymous analytics (Google Analytics 4), in order to improve the product.
3

Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, rent, or share any data with third parties, advertisers, or data brokers. The Extension uses Google Analytics 4 for anonymous usage measurement only. IP anonymization is enabled and no personally identifiable information is sent to Google.

All sports data and team logos are served directly from our validated backend (api.scorenook.com). You can learn more about how Google handles analytics data in Google's Privacy Policy.

4

Data Security

All data transmitted between the Extension and our External Backend Service (EBS) is secured via HTTPS. Broadcaster OAuth tokens are stored securely server-side and never pass through the extension's client-side JavaScript.

5

Data Retention & Deletion

Broadcaster configuration data and OAuth tokens are kept only as long as you use the Extension. If you wish to revoke our access to your Twitch account, you can disconnect ScoreNook at any time from your Twitch Connections settings.
